Pažaislis Music Festival
Since first being held in 1996, this is now the largest classical music festival in Lithuania. Although the festival is still centred around the Baroque Pažaislis Monastery ensemble, it also has events in Kaunas and other locations throughout the country. The festival takes place all summer long and features roughly 40 concerts that are attended by more than 25,000 listeners.
Over the years, the festival has become a springboard for the careers of Lithuania’s young music professionals, providing them an opportunity to play on stage together with masters of the genre – the most famous domestic and foreign soloists and groups.
The variety of genres that the festival offers allows every listener to discover the beauty of classical music – both chamber and symphonic music, as well as experimental and electronic music can be heard at the concerts.
