ELINA DUNI, a young Swiss-Albanian singer of poetic jazz, will give her only concert in Lithuania.In 2012 she signed a contract with ECM Records, and her unique blend of traditional Albanian folk songs and jazz has been critically acclaimed worldwide. In 2017, Duni was awarded the Swiss Music Prize and began collaborating with guitarist and BBC New Generation artist ROB LUFT, a rising star on the London contemporary jazz scene. Luft’s music is intertwined with shades of West African, Celtic folk and minimalism. His joyful sound blends perfectly with E. Duni’s vocals.

The performers invite you to take a journey through timeless folk songs that still sound very relevant today, and the concert will also feature co-written pieces about contemporary issues that we all face. The duo’s first collaborative album Lost Ships, a collaboration with pianist, percussionist Fred Thomas and trumpeter Matthieu Michel, was released on ECM Records in 2020, nominated for the German Critics’ Choice and German Jazz Awards, and won a Presto Award in the UK. The quartet’s album A Time to Remember, released after a pandemic and many live performances, is like a goldmine of songs in several styles: from enchanting folk songs to contemporary European jazz.
