Pianists Johan Randvere and Justas Šervenikas, who have performed as a piano duo for six years, will present a special program at the Pažaislis Music Festival dedicated to the 150th anniversaries of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and Maurice Ravel.
This internationally active duo regularly appears across Europe in recital and with orchestras. At the Pažaislis Music Festival, they will perform on one piano, playing four hands. While a solo piano recital can already evoke the power of a symphonic concert, the four-hand format expands the range even further—with a richer palette of genres, more intense colours, and deeper nuances.
The program includes arrangements for piano four hands of two orchestral masterpieces: M.K. Čiurlionis’s most famous work, the symphonic poem “In the Forest”, and Maurice Ravel’s suite “Mother Goose”, inspired by well-known fairy tales from French literary tradition.
The evening will also feature two central works from the golden repertoire for piano four hands: Franz Schubert’s Fantasy in F minor, considered one of his greatest achievements and dedicated to his beloved student Caroline von Esterházy; and Claude Debussy’s Petite suite, notable for its atypical simplicity, graceful dance rhythms, transparent harmonies, and memorable melodies.

The concert is organised in cooperation with Kaunas State Philharmonic and Kaunas District Municipality.
