The world is full of different songs – popular and forgotten, warming up the blood, inspiring to dance, or enveloping us in peaceful meditation. The Kaunas Piano Trio and soloist Gabrielė Bukinė invite the audience to a programme of “Songs of the World”, which will be full of different colours and moods!
In just a few years, soloist Gabrielė Bukinė has established herself in Lithuania’s leading opera theatres, has been awarded various prizes, and has received the highest critical and audience acclaim. In 2020, making her debut at Kaunas State Musical Theatre, she was nominated for the Golden Cross of the Stage and awarded the Fortuna Statuette for her debut roles, and in 2023 she was awarded the Kaunas City Culture Award. In 2023, Bukinė made her debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she sang in the productions of La Sarsuela and La Traviata. For these roles, she was named the LNOBT’s “Opera Hope of the Year”, and she was also voted “Favorite Soloist of the Year” by the audience who voted online. In the summer of 2023, the soloist won the Claudia Taev International Competition for Young Opera Singers, considered one of the most prestigious in the world, and in 2025 she was awarded the Golden Stage Cross for her performance as Mimi at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre and the roles of Sister Angelica and Antonia at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
She has performed with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Baltic Academy Symphony Orchestra, the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Karaganda (Kazakhstan), the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Perm (Estonia), and has been regularly invited to sing at various festivals.
The Kaunas Piano Trio, founded in 2011, has performed more than 250 concerts over the years, has become an active participant in the cultural life of Kaunas and the region, and has earned the sympathy of the public. The search for new repertoire, conceptual programmes, collaboration with artists of other genres and inventive educational projects are the creative strategy and calling card of this ensemble.
The Kaunas Piano Trio’s performances have been acclaimed at international competitions in Lithuania, Poland and Italy. The ensemble has performed as a soloist with the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra, the VMU Chamber Orchestra, the Kaunas Vocal Ensemble Acusto, the Kaunas State Choir, the Heidelberg University Chamber Choir Camerata Carolina, and the conductors Modestas Barkauskas, Karolis Variakus, Robert Šervenik, and Franz Wassermann. The Kaunas Piano Trio has been invited to perform at the prestigious Pažaislis Music Festival every year, has taken part in festivals such as “Iš arti”, “Dainava Country Music Festival”, “X Tytuvėnai Festival”, Christopher’s Summer Festival, 2nd Lithuanian Chamber Music Festival, etc., and has performed in Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany. In the spring of 2025, the first CD of Kaunas Piano Trio “Miražai” was released, featuring the music of one of the most prominent Lithuanian composers of today, Zita Bružaitė.
