An unexpected, but incredibly harmonious and harmonious duo – this is a short description of the concert of the performers who will make their debut at the Pažaislis Music Festival.
Morta Kacion, who was born into a family of musicians, started her acquaintance with music on the piano, but at the age of 12 she discovered her love – the clarinet. She has studied in Lithuania, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands. As a pupil of Manchester’s Chethams School of Music, she performed with the orchestra at London’s Royal Festival Hall and other famous venues in the UK, took part in chamber music festivals in Norway and Sweden, and won prizes in various competitions. In Manchester, Kacion formed a creative friendship with Alexandra Whittingham, one of the brightest young European guitarists of the next generation, who has been described by the British media as “a young artist with great potential to shape the world of classical music”. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in London with honours and top grades, Whittingham released her debut studio album My European Journey in 2021. The album reached number 1 on the iTunes Classical Chart, garnered more than 260 000 subscribers on YouTube, and her performance videos have had more than 38 million total views. Her concert biography includes performances all over the world, including the Cayman Islands Arts Festival and a 27-date tour of Germany, Holland and Austria last year.
