The Baltic Guitar Quartet, formed in 2004 on the initiative of young and talented classical guitarists, is highly appreciated by the country’s classical music lovers and is known abroad as the leading guitar ensemble in the Baltic States. The ensemble’s concert list includes more than 25 countries and prestigious venues around the world, including Japan, China, Austria, Denmark, as well as the famous Berlin Philharmonic, Warsaw’s Royal Palace, and London’s Southbank Centre. The members of the Quartet are laureates of various competitions, active performers, and their music-making is sensitive, colourful and subtle, yet unpretentious. The Quartet has deepened its knowledge of the subtleties of chamber ensemble by studying with violinist, former long-time member of the Vilnius State String Quartet prof. Petr Kunc, as well as studying with world-renowned musicians and ensembles, including the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, Oscar Ghiglia, Pepe Romero, Roland Dyens, David Russell, Laura Young, and the Bandini Chiacchiaretta Duo.

The Baltic Guitar Quartet, playing together for the 20th year, presents the programme Pilgrims. The performers will reveal why this title only during the concert, but we are left to speculate – what has been the path of this ensemble that has been travelling together for two decades? The concert programme promises the most varied journeys – in different styles of music, in different eras, in different countries and even in time, visiting for a short time those who are no longer around.
